The Honda FC Sport concept is a fuel cell powered vehicle which was unveiled at the 2008 Los Angeles Auto Show. The car was created by the Advanced Design Studio of Honda R&D Americas, in Pasadena, California.

The Honda FC Sport is designed to highlight the versatility and potential of Honda's V Flow fuel cell technology – already used in the Honda FCX Clarity sedan. The FC Sport concept reconfigures the fuel cell technology into a lightweight sports car design with an ultra-low center of gravity, powerful electric motors and zero-emissions.

"The Honda FC Sport explores how to satisfy automotive performance enthusiasts in a world beyond petroleum," said Dan Bonawitz, vice president of American Honda Motor Co., Inc. "People who love sports cars will still have a reason to love in a hydrogen-powered future."

The Honda FC Sport is powered by a custom-designed high-power fuel cell stack, positioned between the rear seats, and a battery pack fitted low in the middle of the vehicle. The electric motor resides just forward of the rear axle. Two fuel storage tanks, visible through the rear window, are located above the rear axle.

The layout of the powertrain components not only significantly reduces the FC Sport's center of gravity, it also allows for a relatively large passenger cabin by conventional supercar standards with enough space for three seats.

Access to the Honda FC Sport is through a canopy which opens upward from the rear. The central driving position, like that of the Mclaren F1, is flanked by two passenger seats set further back into the cabin.

The rather unusual styling of the Honda FC Sport is characterized by angular lines and a sleek overall profile. The white paintwork is intended to underscore the car's environmentally friendly credentials, while the dark wheels and tinted windows are designed to hint at the performance potential.
