Cash For Clunkers Art Cars
During the recent government "cash for clunkers" program this country witnessed an art car renaissance within the car dealership community. The program gave birth to the hidden talent that laid dormant within some of our countries finest car sales people. No longer did they just have to blow up balloons first thing every morning or make sure that the standard signage was clean and ready to go. During cash for clunkers a new and innovative signage program was needed so they took to their canvas with gusto to tell the world about it. What we saw was the raw inner creative spirit coming through as public works of art through car painting, car sculpture and even car destruction performance art. I don't know if our country will ever be the same, but I hope this new cash for clunkers art car renaissance will not effect us adversely.

Harley Davidson Bikes to Come in India Soon
The oldest bikes manufacturer of the world, Harley Davidson plans to launch bikes in India soon. American brand Harley Davidson bikes will be launched in early 2010 at price tag around 7 - 10 lakh rs.
As per the speculations that Harley Davidson was already got permission in 2007 to launch Harley Davidson bikes in India but company try to reduce import duty on Harley Davidson bikes which can help customers to buy cheaper Harley Davidson bikes with low import duties.
Harley Davidson Motor Company president and COO Matt Levatich told ET: "The high tax burden is a disadvantage to our products, but we are looking at the vast opportunity in the world’s second-largest two wheeler market. Gradually, we expect the niche bike segment to grow with infrastructure improvement and a buoyant economy."
India has biggest market of bikes buying & selling. In this automobile environment Harley Davidson will surely get fitted with good range of bikes. We all know that bike lovers will surely accept Harley Davidson as a big brand in India too.
Harley Davidson will have to face tough competition with Honda, Suzuki & Yamaha with their sports bikes. Harley Davidson has good line-up models to introduce in India. Indian people will surely get some good bikes from Harley Davidson.

Van Covered with Stuffed Bear Road Kill
A van covered in stuffed bear trophies is one way to tell the world "I am cute and cuddly" or "I brake for carnival games" or "I break for garage sales" or "I am covering a major bad paint job or "my car is really a clunker in disguise"

Quick Review: 2009 Chevrolet Impala Rental
I needed a rental car for a couple of days, and the only car available at my local Enterprise store was a red 2008 or 2009 Impala.
The Chevrolet Impala is a perfect example of why GM nearly went under, and how the Chevrolet brand was adrift without a clear identity. It is a mediocre car, with some very annoying details. It doesn't inspire passion, it isn't a car I would choose to buy. It is a rental fleet queen.

Good Points:
- Quiet, smooth, 3.5L V6 with variable valve timing.
- Clean, if boring, styling.
- Flex-Fuel (E85) capable.
- Unoffensive transmission behavior.
- Decent fuel economy for a larger car (I got 25mpg average on gasoline)
- Huge trunk
Bad Points:
- The OHV V6 is modestly powered at 211HP/214Lb-ft. The 3.6 DOHC GM V6 makes 252HP.
- Only 4 speed transmission.
- Prominent tire noise.
- Wind noise from driver's door seal?
- Cheesy fake wood interior trim.
- Odd wedge shaped sideview mirrors offer reduced visibility.
- Hard plastics abound in the interior.
- Bizarre vertical levers for dual zone temperature control, with very little resistance.
- Pedal-type parking brake intrudes on foot room and interferes with dead pedal space.
- No PRNDL markings on floor shifter (PRNDL displayed on IP).
- Soft, squishy ride with lots of body lean.
- Mushy on-center steering feel.
- No hand-hold to open trunk (you can try to grab the trim, or put your fingers under the trunk lid edge).

Chevy Mocks Volvo, I Mock Chevy
In a new ad campaign, GM's Chevrolet division points out the passion that some of their classic cars inspire. Link: http://blogs.edmunds.com/straightline/2009/08/chevy-hates-on-imports-and-hollywood-with-recent-ad-campaign.html#more. One of the banners says "They Don't Make Songs About Volvos".
As a former Volvo 850 owner, I am a little hurt by Chevrolet's blow, implying that Volvo's don't inspire passion. I'd like to point out that in fact, there are several songs about Volvos. For example, "Volvo Cowgirl 99" by Sheryl Crow (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4VIUod8EAo4). Or Everclear's "Volvo Driving Soccer Mom" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xK_XWH7Ryd4). And I also found something called "The Volvo Song" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=quAFK_CkXOs).
I don't think many people are writing songs about Impalas these days. If you dwell too much on past glory, you might re-inforce the idea that right now half of your lineup is sub-par boring crap, like the Impala. And the Aveo. And the Cobalt.
